Have you ever seen a loofah growing in its natural environment?
While enjoying our river trip, we found this amazing tropical vine growing on the river bank. We removed the brown/orange upper layer and get the real natural scrubbing sponge which is used in bathrooms and kitchens.
The fruit of these species is cultivated and eaten as a vegetable if it is harvested at a young stage of development. It needs up to 200 warm days to mature.
