On Friday, the 31st of July 2015, we officially finished the Gambia International Summer Camp 2015, which lasted for 4 weeks.

The summer camp was open for all children up to the age of 9, who go to Mo Beta Kindergarten and also to other children, who don’t have this opportunity. The children gained new skills, which they will need in life and further schooling, in small groups during guided activities in a creative atmosphere. We spent a lot of time on artistic creativity, music education and doing sports.

Despite minor problems with attendance before the largest holiday in Gambia during the summer camp, we are more than happy with the results. We successfully carried out the program and enabled the children to gain additional knowledge!

We would like to thank all the volunteers, who took part in the summer camp. We had a great team of positive, hardworking, resourceful and energetic volunteers this year as well, who made this summer special for the children. We would also like to thank to the team of humanitarian organization Charity Pearl The Gambia, which has been helping to the Gambian children since 2011!

We are already looking forward to the Gambia International Summer Camp 2016, which will take place from 04. 07. till 29. 07. 2016. We accept applications at the following e-mail address: volunteer@treasuresofwestafrica.com.

International summer school camp in The Gambia will take place from 01.07.15 until 31.07.2015. The program was prepared by education teachers in collaboration with other participants of the summer school camp 2014.

Summer School Camp is open to all children up to the age of 12 years. The school is free of charge for all children, and each child will receive a daily meal.

We want them to gain knowledge that will help them in their future and education. We want them to overcome their fear, to upgrade their English language skills, to be creative, to get musical education and do sports activities. All this will be done under professional supervision and in a creative environment, in small groups and through play.

We need six volunteers with different experiences and knowledge. Professional training is not a requirement. Everybody who would like to educate children and at the same time learn something new is invited. Anyone who could teach Music, Art, English, language courses for children (French, German, Italian…) etc. is welcome to join.

The number of applications is limited, so hurry and sign up!
